Machine Losses and Efficiency
Sort every machine loss into copper (I squared R), core (hysteresis plus eddy current), mechanical (friction and windage), and stray, then compute efficiency = output / input, the maximum-efficiency condition (variable copper loss = constant core loss), transformer all-day (energy) efficiency, and loss separation (hysteresis proportional to f, eddy current to f squared).
