- 100% multiple choice, 450 items across six subjects over three days: MAS and Auditing (70 items each), Taxation (70) and RFBT (100), FAR and AFAR (70 each).
- How long it is
- The CPALE runs to roughly 450 questions and the board sets aside about 18h for it. Our timed mocks are paced to the same seconds-per-item, so exam-day speed feels familiar.
- The subjects
- It is scored across 6 subjects: Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting (AFAR), Management Advisory Services (MAS), Auditing, Taxation, Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions (RFBT). Each subject grade counts toward your general average.
- What it takes to pass
- A general average of at least 75%, with no subject rating below 65%. You need a general average of at least 75% with no grade below 65% in any of the six subjects. Falling below 65% in a subject, or below the conditional threshold, means a retake.
- When it is given
- Held by the PRC (commonly twice a year). Confirm exact dates at prc.gov.ph.
Common pitfalls, and how to avoid them
- Studying unevenly. One weak subject can pull down your average or drop you below the 65% floor, so give every subject real time, not just your favorites.
- Never practicing under time. Knowing the material and answering it at exam speed are different skills. Take at least one full timed mock before exam week.
- Cramming instead of spacing. Short, daily review beats a few marathon sessions. Work a lesson and its quiz, then move on and come back.
- Skipping the review of wrong answers. The explanation on a missed item is where the learning is. Read every "why", not just the score.
